What age is bamboo bamboo tableware suitable for?
From the very first bite of solid food right through the toddler years and beyond. Our suction plates and bowls are designed to work from around 6 months, when most babies start weaning, and they keep earning their place at the table long after the weaning stage is over.
The suction holds just as well for a determined two-year-old as it does for a curious six-month-old. Which is fortunate, because the two-year-old is considerably more determined.
How strong is the suction?
Strong enough that parents have tried to pull the plate off themselves and couldn't. The silicone suction ring creates a firm seal on any smooth flat surface and stays there through grabbing, banging, and the kind of focused determination only a hungry baby can muster.
Your child will not be launching this one across the room. We have tested that theory more thoroughly than we care to admit.
Is bamboo baby tableware dishwasher safe?
Bamboo, like any natural material, is best cleaned by hand with warm soapy water. Wood, bamboo, anything that comes from a tree really, does not love prolonged heat and moisture. This is not unique to us — it is just how natural materials work, and why they last so much longer when treated with a little care.
That said, we are not naive. We know plenty of you are putting the whole lot in anyway. Our official position is hand wash. What happens in your kitchen after a long Tuesday night is entirely your own business.
